POSTION LOCATION: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri

POSITION OBJECTIVE: This position is responsible for coordinating technical service activities for customer and prospects in a select territory and in some cases specific account support outside the defined territory. He/She must meet an annual target for activity, writing reports and expense control. A clear and detailed understanding of the powder coating process is a must as well as technical expertise, moral conduct, and professionalism will be expected and continually evaluated.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES will include the following:

Business Expertise;

  • This position must be able to build relationship with prospective customers
  • This position must have excellent technical and mechanical skills
  • Must be able to use multiple communication methods effectively
  • The person must be knowledgeable about application equipment, knowing their strengths and weaknesses.
  • This position must have excellent verbal communication skills
  • This position must be willing to work in a plant atmosphere
  • This position must be able to work closely with Customer Service, Operations, Research and Development Labs, Regional Managers, and upper Management within Vitracoat.
  • This person must be able to use time wisely and effectively with little supervision
  • This person must have the ability to build trust with a customer

Technical Expertise;

  • This position requires an understanding of the powder coating process
  • The person must have an understanding of all aspects of powder coating process.
  • The person must be willing to quickly learn how to troubleshoot a powder operation
  • The position must understand the chemistries available and the benefits and weakness of each one.
  • This person must be able to complete a technical audit report with detailed information.
  • This position must use inputs from multiple sources to develop the best and most practical solution for the customer.
  • This position must have a proven track record in a technical role with coatings, preferably powder coatings.
  • This position may be required to perform technical training
  • Effective use of technical support people for territory

Additional Responsibilities

  • Extensive travel may be required for this position
  • Complete expense reports for business travel in a timely and complete manner
  • Gather information as needed to complete LWR’s as needed to grow business
  • Traveling to Vitracoat’s corporate office in Mexico may be required
  • Working in a team environment being respectful and professional with all Vitracoat employees
  • Network to help grow business in territory
  • Assist sales in meeting annual sales targets
  • Stay within budgeted expenses for business travel and entertainment
  • Manage inventory levels and move aged inventory

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

While this position will not start with any direct reports, he/she must be willing to train, mentor and/or support all members of the sales and marketing team to optimize effort and focus on achieving business sales and profit goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Teamwork skills will be very important aspects of this job with an emphasis on his/her ability to communicate both orally and written.

Education and/or Experience

High School education is a must. A four (4) year chemistry, marketing or business degree is a plus. However, this person must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in coatings, preferably powder coatings.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects is a must
  • Organizational skills essential
  • Communications skills both oral and written will be of significant importance.
  • The ability to travel
  • Experience and proficient use of all Microsoft Office programs, Adobe, Apple Products with the ability to work with new software as needed.
  • Knowledge of the coating’s marketplace especially powder coatings
  • Knowledge of the powder coating process
  • Proven Technical Track Record
  • The ability to work independently
  • Excellent computer skills
