POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Quality Technician is responsible for evaluating product for acceptability to performance specifications and visual standards.

    1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Store new color standards readings in spectrophotometer (X-Rite).
    • Follow procedures on how to store and handle physical Master Standards.
    • Evaluate product samples, from each stage of the process (Blending, Extrusion and Milling) in accordance with First Piece Report specifications.
    • Evaluate product samples for appearance defects like Contamination, Craters, etc.
    • Record findings from evaluation on proper documentation
    • If needed, assist in adjustments by weighing recommended adjustments as needed.
    • When possible, weigh all adjustments in the lab.
      • If adjustment is too large for the lab equipment, work with production weigher to make adjustments.
      • Add adjustments to vessel, notify production of new adjustments.
    • Conduct final approval of all batches.
    • File batch panels as required.
    • Create pre-ship panels as required by customers.
    • Ensure that a batch powder retain is save.
      • Label each retain.
      • Logs retain in Retain Log
      • Create retain box with labeling provided by QC/Production Assistant
    • Weight up confirmation shots prior to production as needed to verify formulas.
    • Maintain work area and equipment in good working conditions.
    • Other duties as required by supervisor.


    3.0 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
     No supervisory responsibilities for this position.

    7.0 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • High School diploma is a must.
    • Organizational skills essential.
    • Spanish speaking is a plus.
    • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work a part of a team or under direct supervision is essential.
    • Basic Microsoft Excel, and Word knowledge is required.

    The employee must be able to communicate clearly with others and must be physically able to stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, and kneel. The employee must be able to occasionally lift or move up to approximately 25 pounds.
