This position is responsible for coordinating all the sales, prospecting, and service activities for customers and prospects in a select territory and in some cases specific account support outside the defined territory. He / She will have to meet an annual budget for sales, margin, and expenses. Sales skills, Technical expertise, moral conduct, and professionalism will be expected and continually evaluated.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES will include the following:
While this position will not start with any direct reports, he/she must be willing to train, mentor and/or support all members of the sales and marketing team to optimize effort and focus on achieving business sales and profit goals.
This position will qualify for a commission program based on sales and margin. This position will earn a commission that will be calculated based on a percentage of sales linked to margin, He/she will be paid a commission once the commission earned exceeds the employee’s cost to the business excluding approved business travel and entertainment expenses. This will be paid quarterly. It should be understood that there are multiple ways commission can be reduced that are, but not limited to Aged Inventory, Claims, Expenses and/or Exceeding Expense Limits, Non-Payment by Customers, Over Payment of Commission, etc.
Teamwork skills will be very important aspects of this job with an emphasis on his/her ability to communicate both orally and written.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School education is a must. A four (4) year chemistry, marketing or business degree is a plus. However, this person must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in sales, and experience in coatings, specifically powder coatings is a plus.
